SRC

Volcanic terroir, Etna identity, and natural Sicilian wines

SRC Wines is a small, artisanal project rooted on the slopes of Mount Etna, in Sicily — one of Italy’s most dynamic and distinctive wine territories. Here, viticulture is shaped by altitude, volcanic soils, and extreme temperature variations, creating the ideal conditions for wines of freshness, minerality, and depth.
The philosophy behind SRC is centered on a natural and low-intervention approach, where vineyard work plays a fundamental role. The vines are cultivated with respect for the environment, allowing the unique characteristics of the volcanic terroir to fully emerge. The vineyards are planted with native grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Carricante, which thrive in this challenging yet expressive landscape. These conditions give rise to wines with refined structure, vibrant acidity, and strong territorial identity. In the cellar, the approach is minimal and precise, aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit and the energy of the vintage. Fermentations are often spontaneous, and aging is designed to enhance balance and authenticity. SRC Wines represents a pure expression of Etna wines — mineral, elegant, and terroir-driven — where volcanic energy and artisanal craftsmanship come together to create wines with character and depth.
